Gmail for iOS gets swipe to refresh feature

Google has released a new update to the Gmail iOS interface (iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad) that brings a new feature that makes it possible to update the webmail inbox by swiping down the screen.

Originally released by Tweetie 2 – later acquired by Twitter – the functionality was described as a “paradigm break” in the way content updates used to behave on devices.

"Instead of separating a space for a refresh button, simply pull the timeline down and new content will appear at the top, in chronological and intuitive order," the company said at the time.
