Google announces custom themes in Gmail

Gmail for Android with automatic messaging and swipe to archive or delete

Google today announced a new version of the Gmail app for Android, available for free from its Google Play store, which incorporates some new features.

Available only for devices running Android 4.0 (or higher), Gmail now offers easier message reading by including an auto-adjust and zoom effect.

“With this latest version, you can now choose to have the emails resized to fit the screen perfectly and also zoom in for a more detailed look,” the Google team said.

Deleting or archiving messages is also much easier. In the inbox, users can now configure an option to swipe left or right to delete or archive messages.

Google also announced in its Google+ account that the new Gmail app works better with attached images, as well as allowing video uploads.

“When you open a message with photo attachments, you will see thumbnails of each photo. Tap one of the images to go to a gallery of all photos. And speaking of attachments, you can now attach videos you filmed on your phone, ”the company said.
