Gmail is down and displays the 404 error message after attempting to login, according to reports on Twitter this Tuesday (29). The site does not load when the user enters access credentials and tries to sign in to Google’s email account. Downdetector, a website that gathers reports of problems with web services, indicates that Gmail went offline and stopped working in Brazil and in areas of the United States and Europe from 9 am, with a peak of more than 1,400 user complaints on Internet.

Users already logged into the email by the browser are not affected by the problem. Access to Gmail via Android and iPhone (iOS) apps is also stable. The 404 error reaches new logins on the service by desktop browsers, and also prevents you from entering the Google account from the search engine’s homepage. The flaw was resolved by the company at 10:39 am: «We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for the patience and support of the users,» he said in a statement.

Users also report an error with Gmail on the Google page on the Downdetector, adding almost 200 complaints at the same time that access problems hit users. As the Gmail account is linked to other Google services (YouTube, Google Drive, among others), it is also not possible to log in to other sites on the platform due to the error.
