GM (Golden Master) version of El Capitan is released; new OS X will be released to everyone on 9/30 [atualizado 2x]

In addition to iOS 9 GM seed and iOS 9.1 beta, Apple today released the OS X El Capitan 10.11 GM seed (compilation 15A282b). It is, if all goes well and no major errors are found, the final version of Ma's new desktop operating system.

The update is available on the OS X update system, built into the Mac App Store, and will appear for everyone who is using a trial version of El Capitan. The final version of OS X El Capitan 10.11 will be made available to everyone on September 30 (a Wednesday).

As we were reminded, historically it has never been possible to install a GM version (Golden Master) for the built-in update of OS X, requiring you to download the update from the Apple website (for developers) and install everything manually.

In an email sent today to participants of the Apple Beta Software Program, the company tried to clarify how to proceed to install the GM version of OS X El Capitan 10.11. Here is our translation of the email:

Thank you for participating in the Apple Beta Software Program. Your feedback and use of the public beta of OS X El Capitan has helped us to make this version great. We are pleased to give you access to the OS X El Capitan GM Candidate.

If you are currently testing OS X El Capitan, please back up your Mac and do the following to install GM Candidate. Go to the “Purchased” tab on the Mac App Store and click the Download button next to OS X El Capitan GM Candidate. Then click Continue to download the full OS X installer. When the download is complete, the installer starts automatically. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
