Gboard now allows you to create stickers from our face

Several months ago, Google Allo users received so-called “selfie stickers”, a curious system with which we could create emoji packs from our photo. This feature has now been integrated into the official Google virtual keyboard, so we can use it in any messaging app that allows images to be inserted in the text.

To be able to use it we will have to download version 7.5.9 or higher of the keyboard, although the said option is half hidden: by the keyboard itself we will have to make a long press on the comma key / smiley icon that is between the language and the numeric keypad selector. Inside, we’ll see Google’s animated stickers along with a new face-shaped icon. Touching it will activate the front camera and when we take a picture framing our face we will see the interpretation of our face with two different styles.

The result does not have to be the definitive one, since through its complete editor we can customize any facial element. Once we save the result, a package of states will be automatically generated to use as we wish. We can store as many customized packages as we want, being available from the mentioned sticker menu.
