Gartner: Apple was the only one among the major computer manufacturers to increase sales last year so far

As usual, Gartner today released its data on worldwide sales of personal computers, which dropped 0.1% since the second quarter of 2011 or -5.7% (!), If we consider only the American market.

Here is the global table:

Hewlett-Packard (HP) still leads, but has plunged 12.7% and is close to being surpassed by Lenovo, which grew 14.9% in the same period. The difference between them is now only 0.2 percentage point.

Here, the table focused on the United States:

Note that, of the five major manufacturers, only Apple was in the positive growing 4.3% year on year. He still has a long way to go to threaten Dell's second position, but the prospects are good.

It is worth noting that Gartner's data even considers only PC sales (desktops and laptops also covering netbooks / ultrabooks), excluding tablets.
