PROTESTE (Brazilian Consumer Protection Association) conducted several tests on several smartphones marketed in Brazil, in order to measure which devices are safer. Several models participated, with emphasis on; Samsung Galaxy S9, iPhone 8 Plus, Galaxy A8 and Zenfone 3 Zoom.
In the results obtained, according to PROTESTE, the device that came in first place was the Galaxy S9, from Samsung, which scored five in navigation, ergonomics, text and GPS navigation. In terms of functionality, connection, camera and video, Samy’s top of the line received a score of four. Its downside is the high price issue.
Apple’s iPhone 8 also scored equal to Samsung’s Galaxy S9, however, the bitten apple device lagged behind its rival due to its even higher price. The iPhone 8 is currently priced between R $ 3,599 and R $ 4,800, while the Samsung Galaxy S9 can be found for a cheaper price that can reach up to less than R $ 2,999.

Another major highlight was the Zenfone 3 Zoom from Asus which, despite not having such good grades as the Galaxy S9 and iPhone 8, was considered by the company to be a safe smartphone with good performance. Its weak point was due to the cameras and ergonomics. The positive point is due to its price considered low for the set that the smartphone offers.
When it comes to cost / benefit, adding low price + great results, the Galaxy A8 is the best shot. PROTESTE chose Samsung’s Premium intermediary as the best choice among all tested brands.
