The first technical specifications of the Galaxy A8, part of the A series introduced by the South Korean company in early 2015, leaked some time ago.
Today (07/14), Samsung officially announced the arrival of the device to the Asian market.

Galaxy A8: Launch, price and availability
The Galaxy A8 was launched today in Asia.
There is no information on the availability of the model for other countries, including Brazil.
In the Asian market, the device will be sold for approximately US $ 500, about R $ 1,564.53 excluding taxes and fees.

Galaxy A8: Design
The Galaxy A8 is the thinnest device ever produced by Samsung, with only 5.9mm, quite a title for an intermediate model.
The device resembles the Galaxy S6, but appears not to have been built on the same chassis.
The Galaxy A8 has aluminum edges, with the same bevel on the sides that comes with the models premium of the Galaxy S line.
The company is selling the Galaxy A8 in three color options, namely: white, black and gold.

Galaxy A8: Technical Specifications
The device is packed by the Snapdragon 615 processor quad-core 1.5GHz, and 2GB of RAM.
The Galaxy A8 processor is the same found in the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, recently launched in Brazil.
The screen has FullHD resolution (1920Ă—1080), with AMOLED technology.

Galaxy A8: Camera
The rear camera of the Galaxy A8 will feature 16 megapixels, but it comes with an important change: to adjust to the thickness of the device, the ISOCELL sensor (LSI3P3) will have the pixel size reduced to 1.0 µm.
The module as a whole will be only 5 mm thick.
To give you an idea, this sensor will be 23% thinner than the camera sensor of the Galaxy Note 4 (the Sony IMX240).
Unfortunately, all this «fineness» will negatively influence the quality of the photos, but even so the camera must be up to the height of the others in the same price range.
Galaxy A8: Battery
To provide enough power for a device with a FullHD screen and a powerful processor, Samsung equipped the Galaxy A8 with a 3,050mAh battery.
It is not yet possible to provide details on the energy autonomy of the model, but the capacity found in this intermediary is greater than that present in the Galaxy S6 Edge.
The company also highlights the work done on the thickness of the battery, which manages to be 0.4mm thinner compared to another model with autonomy of 2600 mAh.
