Functional Apple I is auctioned for nearly $ 2 million in London

At the beginning of the month, we talked about a very poor functional model of Apple I Apple's legendary original computer built by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in a California garage that was about to be auctioned at Christie's, London's famous art house. Now he got out of there with an owner.

Auctioneers estimated that the piece could raise between $ 1.5 million and $ 2.4 million. In the end, the amount paid by the single buyer who did not have his identity revealed was roughly in the middle: Apple I was bought for 371,250, or about R $ 1.9 corn.

It may seem like a fortune, but the money is far from the largest amount spent on an Apple I computer unit that has been sold for the equivalent of $ 3.5 million a few years ago. Certainly a considerable jump from the sale price of the machine in 1976: $ 666.66 (~ $ 2,700).

Even at the “medical” price, it's worth remembering that the Apple I recently purchased a special model: besides being fully functional, it was mounted inside an easy-to-carry case (and secret, since you won't want to paint with a machine in our hands). The package also features a Panasonic tape recorder, a Motorola processor and several rare computer-related documents, such as an original instruction manual signed by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne (Apple's third co-founder).

In the end, there is only one question to ask: Does Crysis run?
