Fuel prices gain mobility

The prices charged at most fuel stations across the country can now be consulted on the Internet.

The values are available on a website hosted by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology, created specifically for this purpose at www.precoscombustiveis.dgge.pt.

By accessing the new address you will find a list with the five most economical stations, both for gasoline 95 and diesel, and also a map of Portugal, where you can search for establishments by district, and a search field, for free search.

In addition to the prices charged and their location on the map, the opening hours and services available at gas stations are also available.

The new website is the result of a decree-law recently published in Diário da República that obliges the owners of fuel filling stations in mainland Portugal to disclose online prices in their establishments.

Fuel pumps with annual sales of less than 500 cubic meters are exempt from providing information, although they can do so voluntarily.

Editor’s note: The address initially provided for the new site was incorrect. For that, we leave our apology.
