One of the most popular Custom Recoveries, the Team Win Recovery Project today released its application that facilitates updating the TWRP itself on the Google Play Store. That means it’s even easier to use custom themes, scripts and advanced partition management options on your Android.
If you use TWRP as a Custom Recovery, you know that despite the benefits of the service and improvements in the interface over the years, upgrading TWRP to the latest version required a little work. Therefore, it was necessary to download the new version manually, add it to the device’s memory and then flash in fastboot mode. Anyway, the process was bureaucratic.
However, now everything is easier because the application will serve as a means to make this update to the latest version of TWRP. According to the developers, the free app has no advertising and works without the need for Google Play Services.
Among the main functions of the app we have the ability to find and download the latest version of TWRP for your device, flash this image to the recovery partition (which requires root access) and flash the boot images on the partition boot (which also needs root).
The application is now available from the Google Play Store and, later, the APK can also be downloaded from the official TWRP website. The app is free and supports Android 4.0 or higher. To download the Official TWRP App, click here.
I haven’t had a chance to use the app yet, but if you’re already using the TWRP app, please share your experience with other members of our community in the comments below.
