Friends get together again to recreate macOS Big Sur wallpaper

Almost a year ago, trio of friends Andrew Levitt, Jacob Phillips and Taylor Gray joined on a journey to recreate all the standard macOS wallpapers from 2013 to the present, since Apple started adopting codenames for special locations in California.

With the recent announcement of macOS Big Sur, they decided to face the challenge again – and this time, they needed a helicopter! ?

Interestingly, the pilot they hired was exactly the same one that Apple hired to capture her photo. Who would say!

The final result captured by them was excellent and is perhaps one of the most faithful of all. You can download the original here, and the recreated by them here.

The cool thing – as they show in the video – is that, at the presentation of Big Sur, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, Craig Federighi, seems to have made a reference to the trio of friends when he joked about the choice of new codename.

The guys sent very well! ?
