The Free Software Foundation (FSF) revealed the winners of their annual awards at the Libre Planet 2009 conference.
Creative Commons licenses were distinguished in the category of Project with the most Social Benefits and Wietse Venema, creator of MTA Postfix, won the prize for Innovation in Free Software.
The Dutch programmer thanked the distinction, stressing that «free software represents an opportunity in society for individuals and organizations» and was «proud» that so many have already adopted his software.
