FOX announces streaming service with content from its channels, unrelated to pay TV

Competition in the world of “Internet TV” is about to get hotter in national lands. After the initiatives of Globo / Globosat and HBO, another large media group is announcing a digital content platform focused mainly on users who do not pay pay TV: FOX Networks is announcing a renewal of the service FOX +, which will become a separate platform, with applications for different devices / systems and a separate subscription plan.

The new service will bring the programming of the 11 channels of the group: FOX, FOX Life, FX, FOX Sports, FOX Sports 2, FOX Premium 1, FOX Premium 2, NatGeo, NatGeo Wild, NatGeo Kids and BabyTV. The channels will be able to be watched live, with the exact content being transmitted on TV and features of live pause and replay; in addition, an extensive catalog with series, programs and films will be available for access on demand.

An interesting part is that FOX + subscribers will have full access to the sports content of FOX Sports, being able to watch the World Cup in Russia live via streaming (be careful only with the screams of “goals” from the neighbors, because we know about the delay of transmissions via the internet). The Copa Libertadores of America, the South American Cup, the Italian, Spanish and German Championships and many others are also included in the package.

FOX + subscription costs R $ 35 monthly and, at least in the initial phase, it must be carried out through a broadband or mobile telephony operator; the main companies of the segment in the country (Claro, Vivo, Oi, TIM, Nextel, NET Virtua and many others) will make the option available on the arrival of the service, until the end of the month.

FOX + applications will be available in the coming months for various platforms, such as iOS, tvOS, Android, Chromecast, Xbox One and Smart TVs from various brands will also have an interface for browser access, of course, and up to five devices can be registered per account to display the content of the platform.

If you were confused (which is perfectly understandable), it is good to remember that the FOX Brasil application continues to exist in the same way, intended only for subscribers to the group's channels in pay-TV packages over there, you only have access to what you already subscribe to. other screens, while the FOX + proposal will be a separate service for those who have already cut the cable.

It sounds interesting, doesn't it? If you have the full 28 seasons of “The Simpsons” available, I’ll give you my credit card number here and now. #FikDik, FOX.
