Facebook offers a host of features for dealing with inconvenient friends on the social network. It is misleading to think that blocking is the only alternative to avoid interaction with awkward contacts. You can also mute posts, restrict users, and be invisible to certain people in Messenger without letting them know you mute them. 1. Silence the person's posts

Mute is the most convenient way to prevent annoying posts from appearing on your Facebook timeline. Discrete, the function avoids the famous "climate", as the muted user is not deleted from the friends list. To mute any, just click the three buttons located above any post of the contact in question and select the "Sleep for 30 days" option.

Are there any contacts that disturb you whenever you are online in Messenger chat? Escape from awkward conversations by becoming invisible to this specific person. In the right sidebar, click the settings icon and select the "Disable online status" option. Then choose the "Disable online status for only some contacts …" alternative and enter the names of people who will be prevented from seeing that you are available.

If a friend fills your profile with annoying comments, unwanted memes, and fake news, know that you can easily and quickly prevent them. Just go to the page of the user in question, hover over the "Friends" menu and follow the options "Add to other list"> "Restricted". Restricted friends can only see posts you have made public or like the content on which they have been tagged. Any other activity will be invisible to them.

If all the previous options were not enough to get rid of that inconvenient friend, it will be necessary to resort to blocking. The resource, more radical than the others, prevents the person from making any contact with you. Blocked contacts cannot access your Facebook profile through links or through search. They also can't see any of your posts, even if they are public.
Blocking is a simple procedure: just access the person's profile, click on the three-point button and select the "Block" option. Remember that the function is a two-way street, and you will be equally unable to interact with the person.
