Microsoft is preparing to release four security bulletins for critical flaws next Tuesday. Windows Media Player, Windows Media Encoder and Office are among the main recipients of these fixes.

The security bulletins will include several fixes to respond to failures in the XP, Vista and Server 2008 versions of the operating system. Two of the bulletins will address problems with Windows Media tools (Media Player 11 and Media Encoder) in the three versions of the operating system. A third newsletter also addresses issues related to media features and a fourth with various issues in Office and OneNote.

The fix pack prepared by Microsoft for September includes a significantly smaller set of fixes, compared to the one released by the company in August, which contained a dozen bug fixes in Windows and Internet Explorer.
