Four annoying Android functions that you should disable right now!

The Android operating system is very feature rich; Some are very useful, some are essential, and some may be considered useless or even annoying. Get to know four functions that can be disabled without affecting your smartphone usage.

1. Restrict location services

One of the biggest responsible for the short battery life of a smartphone is location tracking. While essential to some applications, not everyone needs to know where you are all the time. In the Android settings it is possible to change the GPS accuracy, which saves the battery a lot.

<h2 id=2. End Heads-up Notifications

One of Lollipop's most beloved and hated news is Heads-up notifications. For those who, like me, hate them, it's a simple and easy alternative to using the "Headsoff" app. With it you can kill all Heads-up updates or select which apps can use them.

3. Try the Play Store to create shortcuts on the home screen

Each time you install an app through the Play Store, it automatically creates a shortcut to it on your home screen. For those who use a lot of apps (over 100 in my case) and / or don't like shortcuts on the home screen (my case), there is a solution in the settings menu that disables this function. In the Play Store app, tap the hamburger menu> settings and uncheck Add home screen icon (For new apps). Okay, now only the shortcuts you created will be added to your home screen.

4. Let apps keep the screen active

Sometimes reading text or watching embedded video can be a frustrating experience, as Android deactivates the screen after a predetermined amount of time. The "Cafena" app solves this by letting you choose which apps can keep the screen on even after this predetermined time. With it, you can read news and articles without having to touch the screen from time to time. The app is even more useful for those who keep a short screen activation period to save energy.
