There in 2011, the police arrested three former employees of Foxconn for the leakage of the iPad 2 design. In early 2014, ex-executives and ex-managers were arrested on charges of charging bribes from suppliers. That same year, a former employee was arrested for leaking parts of the iPhone 6.
Now, information has emerged on yet another such case. A former Foxconn senior manager (!) Identified only as Tsai in Shenzhen (China) is being accused of stealing and reselling 5,700 iPhones per over $ 1.5 million.
The Tsai scheme that involved at least eight other former Foxconn employees actually took place between 2013 and 2014, with iPhones 5 and 5s. According to the AsiaOne, the devices were obtained in the factory's testing phase and would be discarded for failing in one or more requirements. Foxconn identified the action through an internal audit and notified the authorities sometime this year.
If found guilty, Tsai could face up to ten years in prison.
