For more than two years, the ZAGG company known for making the film InvisibleShield acquired the French mophie which is also known for products for gadgets, such as battery cases juice packs. Well, a trio of former mophie employees did not like this merger and decided to launch a new brand of accessories, the Nimble.
According to the founders, the company advocates the creation of environmentally friendly accessories for smartphones and other devices. In addition to portable chargers, Nimble also sells chargers wireless, cables and wall adapters including a model that promises to quickly recharge your device via USB.
The packaging is also biodegradable and each product comes with a small plastic bag that you can use to send, free of charge, old technological devices for them to recycle. Cool, huh?
Aesthetically, Nimble products are similar to other chargers of this type, but the batteries offer up to 30W of power and optimize the recharge in all connected USB devices. In addition, the USB-C output provides charging speed even faster than the original Apple charger and 3x faster than the standard smartphone charger.
There are four models of portable chargers available and all offer a USB-A port (with fast charge) and a USB-C port:
- 10,000mAh with 2 USB-A ports and 1 USB-C port: $ 50;
- 13,000mAh with 3 USB-A ports and 1 USB-C port: $ 60;
- 20,000mAh with 2 USB-A ports and 1 USB-C port: $ 70;
- 26,000mAh with 3 USB-A ports and 1 USB-C port: $ 100.
Speaking of wireless chargers, the most basic model (called Wireless Pad; $ 40) was designed to charge iPhones 8, 8 Plus and X at a power of 7.5W; Samsung devices can reach 10W. The Wireless Dual Pad can charge two devices simultaneously and costs $ 50. In addition to these, Nimble also sells the Wireless Stand, a version of the Wireless Pad (US $ 50) that can be used in powder form, becoming a dock for your gadget. All models include a third generation wall adapter for faster charging.
Nimble CEO Ross Howe said the company is committed to zeroing out on electronic waste production by 2022 and that it will recycle up to a pound of that rubbish for every product sold. It is possible to purchase Nimble products through the website itself, however, unfortunately they still do not ship to Brazil; Amazon sales are expected to start soon.
