For the first time, Apple held a session in Brazil focused on autistic children

It seems that there are many initiatives of the Apple happening around the world, but very few actually reach the Brazil. Fortunately, this time the story is different: the Cupertino giant, for the first time, held a very special session here in the country, as Francisco Paiva Junior told us.

Last Sunday (12/11), several children with autism gathered at Ma's store in So Paulo (Apple Morumbi) to participate in a session for them: using iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, children from 8 to 14 years old with high functioning autism were able to create drawings and paintings with various themes .

Accompanied by their brothers, who are members of the support group for parents of autistic children aMAIS SP, participants received help from so-called “Voluteer champions”, voluntary employees of the company participating in the Apple Global Volunteer Program (something like “Apple's Global Volunteer Program”), an initiative that allows employees to help their local community.

In order to help their community, the volunteers were inspired by an event that took place at an Apple store in London (United Kingdom), which held a similar session after an order placed by several mothers of autistic children.

Paiva Junior, who participated in the event with his two children, spoke about the volunteers and showed his satisfaction with the event:

The session instructor was the creative Gabriel Basilio, who had a lot of patience and affection with the children throughout the event. Doctor Iara Brando, a child neurologist and geneticist at startup Tismoo, also participated as a volunteer to give professional support to the event.

I, who participated in the event with my two children, thank and congratulate, on behalf of all parents, for this initiative of the company.

It is no wonder that Apple CEO Tim Cook previously stated that the company's stores can no longer be called “stores” since their focus is mainly on being part of a community.

So, it's really cool that Ma is doing this type of event in Brazil too and we hope that they can continue, multiply and reach many Brazilians in need of this type of attention here. 👏🏻
