For his contributions to design, Jonathan Ive receives an honorary degree from the University of Cambridge

He must already have an enormous amount of wonderfully designed shelves to house the myriad of awards, titles and decorations (even from the Queen of England) that he has already received, but still the honors to Jonathan Ive continue to emerge.

Jony Ive receiving honorary degree from Cambridge University

This time the University of Cambridge, one of the most prestigious in the world, which awarded the legendary Apple designer the title of doctor honoris causa for his invaluable contributions to the design world. More precisely, it would honor a “doctorate in science for‘ elegance, purity and beauty '”brought by the design director of Apple to our planet. Ive receives the title with seven other people from different areas, such as Law and Medicine.

The man credited for introducing elegance, purity and beauty to the design of personal computers as Apple's head of design was also honored. A doctorate in science was awarded to Sir Jonathan Ive, Apple's chief design officer, in recognition of its impact on the computing world and in making technology more accessible through design.

And apparently Ive can separate another space on his shelves: next week, the University of Oxford, another equally prestigious one, also intends to grant an honor to the designer, where he will be named “Doctor of Science”.
