THE iOS 8 will be made available to the general public on September 17th. Due to the proximity of the release, Apple is already asking developers to send their apps ready, compatible with the new system, in order to be approved as soon as possible.
Only, in addition, iOS 8 brings great news for those who want to promote their apps in a more complete way. In an email sent to developers, Apple talked a little more about this.
App Bundles (App Packages)
The App Bundles offer an easy way for your customers to buy up to 10 of your iOS apps at a reduced price. To create a App Bundle, choose the apps you want to include, give your package a name, write a description and set a price on iTunes Connect.
Customers who have previously purchased one or more applications listed on a App Bundle can use the feature Complete My Bundle (Complete My Package) to see the price of the package be adjusted taking into account your previous purchases.
More information about App Bundle can be seen on this Apple page.
App Previews (App Preview)
Introduce the features of your application with a App Preview video on the App Store. To capture images from your app in real time, use a Lightning cable to connect your iOS device to the Mac. Edit your captured images in your favorite video editing application and send your App Preview for iTunes Connect, just as you would with a screenshot. Be sure to follow the application viewing guidelines before submitting your App Preview and your application for review.
IOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are required to capture a video preview of the app. Safari and OS X Yosemite are required to upload and play your preview to iTunes Connect.
More information about App Previews can be seen on this Apple page.
TestFlight Beta Testing
Now you can distribute your pre-release to up to 25 internal and trusted users before making your app available on the App Store. To get started, enable Internal Tests under “Users and Functions” in iTunes Connect for up to 25 members of your team with administrator or technical user roles. An email will be sent to your testers, inviting them to test your app on the TestFlight app. Your testers can accept invitations, install and update binaries, and provide feedback directly through the TestFlight application.
TestFlight Beta Testing for external users will be launched soon.
More information about TestFlight Beta Testing can be seen on this Apple page.
