Football at the heart of the new SAPO Videos offer

Sapo opens laboratory at the University of Aveiro

SAPO remains committed to offering sports content and, this time, decided to create the SAPO Futebol channel in partnership with Sportinveste Multimédia. This offer will be an integral part of the portal’s video channel, where images of the best moments of the Bwin Liga games in the 2007/2008 season will be made available.

Users of the portal will have access to more than five thousand videos, which include plays from Benfica, Sporting and Porto and all the goals of the last five seasons. The videos of the games of this season will be updated at the end of the matches, with the exception of those concerning the three main clubs in the league, which will have the videos updated during the interval of matches.

SAPO also gives all internet users the possibility to share the available content. In this sense, the portal allows users to make the download of videos, including them in new compilations and non-commercial videos, in addition to allowing videos to be published in blogs, websites, or sent by email through the content URL.

The focus on sports has been a regular practice of SAPO, which, over time, has been supporting initiatives and spaces dedicated to football. If this is the case, the auctions for clubs’ shirts, which raised 20 thousand euros in tenders, blogs Benfica, Sporting and Porto, which already have 30 thousand user contributions, and the live transmission of the presentation of the new Benfica and Sporting equipment.

However, SAPO is not going to focus exclusively on content dedicated to football. To this end, the portal established an agreement with the Sports Confederation of Portugal to boost the presence online of all modalities registered with the entity, through blogs, videos and the live broadcast of the Sportsman of the Year Election Gala, on October 25 and promoting the election online of the Sportsman of the Year.
