As research indicates, Android and iOS are the only major operating systems in the smartphone market today. However, it is common to see apps being developed only for one system if the creators ever decide to take it to the competitor, it may be necessary to hire a new team to handle only this project.
To shorten the effort and facilitate the work of application developers not only for Android but also for iOS, Google announced a new framework during Mobile World Congress 2018: the Flutter.
In Flutter, developers find tools to create multiplatform apps more quickly that, according to Google, remain with an excellent performance provided by the use of a GPU-accelerated processor and by the execution time of the native ARM code. The design is also important and can be easily modified, being adapted to the particularities of each system.
While developers make modifications to their apps, changes can be seen quickly, in real time. And to further assist, creators can access an animation library, widgets and more. O framework it also already supports the iPhone X and iOS 11, includes accessibility features (such as support for screen readers and the image format), has code execution in the background, various changes in location, among other things.
In terms of compatibility, Flutter already talks to several tools used in app development, such as Android Studio, Visual Studio Code and even Xcode. He focuses on Dart, as the team believes that this is the “right” programming language for the type of work they want to deliver; in this version, Flutter already supports Dart 2.
And even though it has been made publicly available now, the framework it has already been used to produce several applications, one of the main ones being the official app for the musical Hamilton (available only on the American App Store).

The project is still in its first beta, but Google’s plan to release new test versions every four weeks for its 1.0 version, the team seeks to improve the stabilization of the framework and complete the scenario.
