Five tips and tricks to make Waze your official co-pilot

Lima tips dan trik untuk menjadikan Waze sebagai co-pilot resmi Anda

Waze is one of the leading GSP browsers at the moment. That’s because the app has information from its own community of users, creating routes that aim to divert the driver from traffic and other events that may delay his run. Below are five tips that will make Waze your best co-pilot.

1. Choose the best path

Waze suggests by default the best route based on traffic, that is, with less congestion. This often makes the suggested path longer, since the app will trace a route that will imply several detours. Fortunately, the user can choose the shortest route, whether or not to catch congestion points.

In order not to accept the first suggestion offered by Waze, all you need to do is enter the destination address and click on the «routes» option. Thus, you will be able to choose an alternative that is shorter, even taking a little more traffic, which in the end may be better than another longer route with less congestion. It is possible to see suggestions in lists or on a map.

2. Change the guide voice

If for some reason you get tired of Waze’s voice, know that you can change it at any time. Among the common voices available it is possible to choose the character of the Despicable Me cartoon. To do this, you need to go to Settings> Sound and Voice> Voice instructions. Waze also allows the user to record their own voice from some exercises. You can find this option in Settings> Sound> Voice> Recording.

Also in the voice menu you can count on changing the language, if necessary, where it is possible to download a package with another language, such as English and Spanish, for example.

3. Avoid speeding tickets

Waze can help you to be an even better driver, making you aware of the speed limits set in some regions, streets and highways. This way, you will avoid speeding tickets, as you will have information about your vehicle and local rules.

Alerts can be issued when the driver exceeds the limit by 5%, 10% or 15%, as well as in mileage, as in 5km, 10km or 15km. To adjust, scroll to Settings> Speedometer> When to show alert.

4. Synchronizing the calendar

Waze is widely used by professional drivers, who use the app for work. If the address of your next appointment is on your calendar, Waze can sync that information and automatically suggest the best route without having to search for it. Synchronizing the calendar is quite simple, you just need to go to Settings> Calendar.

5. Synchronize contacts

Waze also synchronizes contacts, just like the calendar, allowing the user to enter an address for another contact just by clicking on their name. It is also possible to share the estimated time of arrival at the location with the desired contact.

To set this adjustment, go to Settings> Account and profile> Phone number. Enter a valid phone number and wait for the confirmation SMS. Click the icon «Friends» (friends) and allow access to your phone contacts. Ready! You will have your personal contacts synchronized with Waze.
