Five things you should not post on Instagram

How to organize your Instagram Feed

Instagram is a social network dedicated to photos and videos in which all its users can publish their images and interact with others freely. However, it is always good to be cautious when publishing new content so as not to go against the terms of use of the application.

The terms indicate that the user is responsible for any activity that occurs on his own account and, therefore, Instagram reserves the right to terminate the service or limit access to the platform due to breach of the rules. However, there are few contents expressly prohibited on the network. Find out more about them in the list below.

1. Defamation or illegal acts

Defaming someone, posting images with harassment or bullying and abuse is contraindicated on Instagram. It is also prohibited to use the service to commit crimes against users of the social network, such as posting unauthorized intimate photos of other people or any other type of image that could be classified as defamation. In addition to going against the terms of use, the case can also expand to the legal scope.

2. Violence or discrimination

Scenes of violence of any kind against people, animals or even property are considered inappropriate by Instagram. Hate speech, discrimination against a specific person or group can fall into this category, as it is also a type of violence.

Similar to the point of «defamation», harassment is not allowed in photos, videos or in comments. The act of spam is included in this item, that is, it is prohibited to publish the same comment repeatedly in the same photo, as a form of offense to the author of the publication. Unwanted commercial communications, such as a message box approach to selling products, are also not suitable.

Although Instagram is a network widely used by professional photographers who publicize their work, nudity is not allowed on the social network, even for artistic purposes. Whoever publishes is liable to report and may have the content removed, in addition to the account suspended or temporarily banned. Likewise, it is not allowed any format of pornographic content, sex scenes, explicit or not.

5. Commitment to privacy

Never try to compromise another user’s privacy through Instagram. This can occur due to the proliferation of malicious information or dubious content that aims to expose the login and password of another user of the social network, or even your own login and password. This is considered identity theft and a crime involving privacy.
