SoundCloud is one of the most popular podcast platforms, with an immense catalog in several languages - including Portuguese. The listener can interact with the broadcast by commenting, liking, republishing on the SoundCloud profile and sharing on other social networks. In addition, the service allows you to create playlists, add tracks to play later and, in some cases, download audio to your PC.

The platform has free and paid plans. In all of them it is possible not only to listen, but also to do podcasting. Even in the basic plan, which is free, the user is entitled to 3 hours of upload per month with publication via RSS, access to statistics and basic personalization controls. Apart from the web version, the system is available in mobile applications for Android and iOS (iPhone and iPad), in addition to a Beta version for Windows 10.

Spotify is best known as a music streaming site, but it can also be used to listen to podcasts. In the web browser, the section must be accessed through the «Home» menu. The most popular podcasts will be highlighted at the top of the screen and, down, you can find the division by categories.

There are nine podcast genres on Spotify: stories; education; music; lifestyle and health; games; business and technology; art and entertainment; sports and leisure; and news and politics. Once you find a program that interests you, playback is identical to that of music tracks and albums. Stations and individual broadcasts can be saved in your library, which is available on all versions of the platform – web, Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.

Stitcher can be used as a podcast platform to learn English or by those who speak the language. This is because most audios are in a foreign language, although there are Brazilian podcasts registered with the service. Despite this, the interface is very well organized and can be used by those who do not have advanced knowledge of English.

The application is also available for Android and iPhone phones, in addition to the web version. Free to use, Stitcher Radio allows you to login with Facebook and Google credentials. Once connected, the user can search for podcasts by topics – such as comedy, politics and technology – or through the text search tool. The platform allows you to save episodes for later viewing and create playlists with favorite shows, among other features.

To create a channel and upload it, you must register using email or Google, Facebook, Twitter or Line accounts.

Another one that does not require login to listen to its more than 150 thousand podcasts is the PodBean. With apps for iOS and Android, the service brings broadcasts organized into 16 categories, such as arts, comedy, health, news and politics, etc. There is some content in Portuguese, but most of them are podcasts in English. Like the previous competitor, PodBean requires credentials (Facebook or Google) to upgrade and take advantage of the platform as a creator, offering paid and free plans.
