Apps developed by third parties are an attraction part of Facebook, since they allow you to add extra functions to the social network or even distract your users with games and quizzes. However, some programs, even if they are a public success, end up being excluded from the platform for different reasons. The Pikini was launched in 2014 and allowed to search for photos of people on Facebook in bikini. The app, however, was short-lived, as the social network began to restrict developers' access to data from friends of application users. By automatically blocking the corresponding API, the tool has lost its main functionality. Frustrated, the program's creators filed a lawsuit against Facebook, blaming it for the product's failure.

Interestingly, the app returned to the spotlight years later. Ted Kramer, one of the owners of the company responsible for the app, was asked by the English parliament to hand over the documents relating to it during a business trip in London. The files, however, were kept under secret from Justia and could not be transferred. As such, the chairman of the culture, media and sports committee, which organized a committee with Facebook to investigate fake news, claimed that the material requested was of such importance and that the decision should be based on British law.
In an exceptional move, an armed sergeant was dispatched to Kramer's bedroom door, giving two hours to deliver the documentation. As the businessman was unsuccessful, he was taken to Parliament, where he was warned about the risk of fines and even jail if he did not comply with the order.
MyPersonality was the first app that the social network banned after the controversial case of Cambridge Analytica, due to the misuse of user data. Deactivated since 2012, the program was created by researchers at the Cambridge Psychometrics Center (despite its name, there is no relationship with Cambridge Analytical) in order to obtain data from Facebook users through personality tests.

According to the TechCrunch website, initially, the information of about four million people was, in fact, for studies by the center itself and other academics who requested it for study purposes. These requests were previously analyzed before being accepted. However, some scholar made the content publicly available on the GitHub website, so that their students could download it.
The flaw was discovered in May, when the plugin was suspended and, in August, banned from the social network. According to the network, the creators failed (to agree) with our audit request and it is clear that they shared information with researchers and companies with limited protections.

The app available for the iOS system (iPhone) for $ 0.99 allowed the user to check which (not even) friends had excluded him from Facebook. To deliver what it promised, the software needed to scan people's profiles in order to check each new update on the friends list. With an innovative resource, the platform was successful in 2010. However, it was not enough and the program was removed from the App Store and blocked from the social network because it is not compatible with the Facebook Platform policies.

Breakup Notifier was an application that allowed you to monitor the relationship status of friends on Facebook. When a person changed their status from single to dating (or any other change in status), the user of the app received an email with the news. The stalker game, which in just three days won over 3.7 million people, did not last long and was blocked by the social network the same week it was launched, in February 2011.
According to the website Complex, the reason alleged by the social network for the developer of the program would have been its great popularity in a short period of time. If an application is making an excessive number of flows, posts calls and receives a large number of reports from users, it can be removed by our automated systems to protect the user experience and the platform ecosystem, said the notification received by the programmer.

Social Roulette, which means "social roulette" in free translation, was a pun on Russian suicide roulette. It was not just the name of the application inspired by the game, but its functionality as well: the user had a one in six chance of having his account on the social network excluded, that is, of ending his virtual social life. If the person was chosen, he could have all publications, friends, applications, likes, photos and games completely excluded. If he survived, he would create a post on his page, saying he had survived, with a link to the application.
To the TechCrunch website, Facebook limited itself to saying: We take action against applications that violate our platform policies, as defined here: https://developers.facebook/policy/, in order to maintain a reliable experience for users users ". The vehicle came to the conclusion that perhaps the platform was excluded for circumventing the option to resume the account and all its information after deleting a social network account.
