1. Graphic equalization of music

VLC is best remembered as a video player, but the program is a very comprehensive media player. It is possible to not only listen to music, but still make playlists and use audio effects. The software has a tool for equalizing the sound. To access it, go to Tools and then go to Effects and Filters. Most media players allow for the constant repetition of a file, but if for some reason you need to repeatedly play only a portion of an audio track or video, VLC has a perfect resource for creating the loop. With the file open, go to the View menu and activate the Advanced Controls option. New buttons will appear in the program interface.

Place the audio or video where you want the loop to start and click the button with the letters A and B joined by an arrow. The first letter is orange, marking point A. Then, select the end of the section to be repeated and click the button again. The two letters will now be orange, indicating that loop playback is on. To turn it off, just press that button again.

This procedure, however, maintains the watermark only while the program is open. To save the modified video, you need to use another VLC feature, which allows you to record the clips on display. In the View menu, activate Advanced Controls to view new buttons at the bottom of the software window. Press the button with a red circle to start and then to end the capture.

5. More functions with extensions

For those who want to go beyond the player's native functions, VLC also offers the installation of extensions. There is a huge catalog (addons.videolan.org), which includes features such as searching for subtitles, skipping credits in series and displaying information about the video or music being played. To have extensions, the first step is to download the respective files from the collection's website, all in .lua format.
