Facebook use increases 169% in one year in Portugal

Over the past year, Facebook has become the most popular social network in Europe. On the continent, usage of the service increased by 314 percent, to reach a total of almost 100 million unique visitors.

The figures are from comScore, which analyzed the evolution of the service in 17 European countries, including Portugal, where in February last year 193 thousand unique visitors were registered on the platform.

The number represents an increase of 163 percent compared to data obtained in the same period last year. Over here, the service is the third most used, unlike what happens in the United Kingdom, France, Spain and several other countries, with a total of 11 among those analyzed.

The most significant growth in the use of the platform occurred in Italy where between February 2008 and February the use of the platform grew by 2721 percent.
