Facebook has released Birthday Stories, a new tool that lets you add digital cards, photos and videos to a single congratulatory story. This way, all the birthday girl's friends can see the tribute. The news was released on May 9 and is available for Android and iPhone (iOS) phones.

How to make birthday card
Step 1. Open Facebook and browse through the Stories. If any of your friends are having a birthday, you will see a card that says "Birthday

Step 2. Press the "Tap to change" button to change the birthday card background. To write text, tap the caption "D congratulations to

Step 3. Enter the desired message. In the bottom bar, tap the "Aa" button to add border to the text;

Step 4. By tapping the three dashes button you can change the alignment of your text. The color palette button, in turn, allows you to change the font color of the typed message;

Step 5. Tapping the highlighted button, which comes with the caption "Simple" by default, changes the font style of the text. When you are done making edits, press "Finish". On the next screen, you can still add stickers, add more text, or use the brush before publishing Stories;

Step 6. To post to Birthday Stories, press the "Birthday Birthday" button.

How to add birthday video
Step 1. To add a photo or video in Birthday Stories, select "Add Photo" on the first screen of the tool. The same window as before will open, but now it will be in the "Normal" tab, where you can add images. Select one of the filters and capture a new photo by pressing the shutter (white circle), or upload a gallery image by tapping the button indicated with an arrow;

Step 2. If you want to insert a video, enter the "Boomerang" tab, which creates short looped videos, or "Video". Select one of the birthday filters and start recording. Hit the "stop" button when you want to finish shooting;

Step 3. The Stories edit bar at the top of the screen will have the same stickers, text insertion and brush tools. But when you insert a video, two other buttons will appear: the scissor, which serves to cut the video, and the speaker, which turns the recording sound on or off;

Step 4. If you want to cut the video, touch the scissors button and drag the edges toward the center to select the desired portion of the recording (keeping the minimum of 3 seconds). Hit "Finish" to go back to the previous screen and then tap "Birthday

Step 5. Confirm the procedure by tapping "Add" in the dialog that opens. Wait a few seconds for the video to be published;

Step 6. Like the cards, the video will be displayed in your friend's Birthday Story, along with the creations of other friends who are also wishing you a happy birthday.
