Facebook closes its “Creative Lab” and takes the Slingshot, Rooms and Riff apps off the air

Unfortunately the bad news of the day didn't just come from Dropbox. THE Facebook announced today that it is closing its “Creative Lab” (Creative Labs), responsible for different apps like Slingshot (released in June 2014), the Rooms (October 2014) and the Riff (April 2015).

With the end of this experimental Facebook division, the three aforementioned applications were removed immediately from the App Store (as well as from Google Play). And it was not for less: none of them engaged. All gained media in their respective launches, after all, they were Facebook projects; but then they were generally forgotten.

The news is much less impactful than that of Dropbox, but it is still sad. One of the few left over from this startup independent of Facebook the Paper:

Sorry, app not found.

Still, it remains to be seen whether Facebook really plans to invest in it. The app has not yet been expanded internationally (not available in the Brazilian App Store) and was last updated in March, almost nine months ago.
