Facebook changed the design of the app on Monday (6). The new interface, available for Android and iPhone (iOS) phones, changes the position of the shortcut bar before, it was at the top of the screen, but is now located at the bottom of the display. According to the warning displayed during the first access to the social network after the update, the proposal is that "this change will help you navigate Facebook more easily".

The move, however, divided opinions on Twitter. In the Play Store, users wrote one-star ratings for the app, complaining that transferring the settings to the bottom bar was unnecessary. The redesign is available on version 264.0 of Facebook, which was released from Friday (3) gradually to users.

Previously, the shortcuts available at the top of the page were news feed, Facebook Watch, groups, notifications and side menu. Now, the bottom bar has three different versions, according to the account registered in the application.
One of the editions houses the shortcuts to the news feed, group list, marketplace, notifications and side options menu. Another brings, in addition to these options, a person icon to access the user profile. The change leaves the profile of the person himself and the buying and selling section of the social network in evidence with easy access.

THE dnetc managed to access these two versions of the shortcut bar on two mobile phones with different registered accounts. Regardless of the device on which the profile was logged, the same edition of the bar was always displayed for the user. This indicates that the different shortcut designs are linked to the accounts, and not to the phone model or application version.
Users were surprised by the update, according to reports on Twitter:

Other users also shared a third different version of the new layout on the microblog, which appears to have been made available to a more limited number of accounts. The alternative edition brings the Facebook logo with the white letter "F" on the blue background in the center of the options bar, as a shortcut to access the application settings menu instead of the traditional hamburger menu (name given to the three bars icon horizontally located in the bottom right corner of Facebook).
The logo replaces the shortcuts for profile and Facebook Watch, and was already spotted in tests on the app last year. She drew even more users' attention this time:
crosses because there is a huge F in the middle of my facebook?

Users left reviews on the Facebook page on the Play Store criticizing the app's new design. An internet user questions the change, considering that in any culture we start reading from the top on a page.

More changes to the Facebook look
Facebook has undergone many interface changes in the past few months. The mobile application has changed the settings menu, traditionally white, to a more striking shade of blue. Facebook Lite, the lighter version of the app, went dark in February.

In addition, the desktop version of the social network now features an experimental redesign for some users. Among the main innovations are the night mode and the whiter and cleaner interface, reducing the blue characteristic of the visual identity of Mark Zuckerberg's company.
