Eye-Fi yesterday announced a new edition of its SDHC memory cards, including extra features and higher transfer speeds. Eye-Fi Pro X2 is exactly like other company products when it comes to wireless photo transfers with geotagging and video for computers as well as easy sharing to sites like Flickr and YouTube, but it brings improvements that enable faster reading and writing speeds, faster uploading content via Wi-Fi networks (especially 802.11n) and higher reach.
The new card also brings double the internal storage compared to the present in the other members of the Eye-Fi family of 4GB, the company increased the capacity of the Pro X2 to 8GB. It is also worth mentioning a new feature known as Endless Memory option, which allows the user to configure the card to eliminate occupied memory automatically by deleting files that have been successfully transferred to your computer.
Eye-Fi also announced a new desktop application to serve as a companion for its memory cards, the Eye-Fi Center. With the product, it is possible to adjust settings in products such as the Pro X2 and manage all the content coming from company cards in addition to files existing on the users' computers to be sent in up to 25 online photo and video sharing services.
This application will be available for download and use by any owner of an Eye-Fi product in January. The Pro X2 can now be ordered in the United States for $ 150.
