The operating system considered largely responsible for transforming the way companies started looking at computers would only be released by Microsoft in 1995 – Windows 95. Before that, in 1990, Eticadata's founders believed it was the right time for a new approach and new experiences, taking advantage of know how meanwhile gathered in the administrative area and business management.
They had the ambition to lead the Portuguese market in the provision of standard management software solutions, combining knowledge and technology and investing in innovation and quality.
Three decades later and with the "house" just renovated, the company continues to assume itself as a startup, only today with 30 years of experience, saysJos Gonalves, CEO of Eticadata Software. The objectives are the same as at the beginning, but, with a complete portfolio of solutions, the ambition is now for the globalization of the brand.

Jos Gonalves confirms that, throughout its existence, the way of doing business at Eticadata has changed. Furthermore, it is also true that, over the past decade, Portuguese companies have been increasing their investment in technology, largely due to the need to respond to a series of legal and fiscal obligations imposed by the State. We have guided our activities in order to adjust our products to the needs of all types of companies, offering them simple, complete, flexible, integrated, intuitive and professional solutions.
The adopted strategy has earned the company sustained growth in results in recent years, points out Jos Gonalves.

Enthusiasm and conscious optimism
Jos Gonalves considers that the company has strong reasons to be proud of all the work carried out over its three decades of existence, with extraordinary things on several fronts and areas, but also the setbacks, admits the responsible. As Eticadata is a company that develops management software solutions for companies, it would be inevitable to mention the financial crises of 2010-2014 due to the impact they had on the national economy.
The CEO defends that the cruelty of the market in which the company operates is increasingly evident, but he does not hesitate to say that the balance of these 30 years of hard work and highly demanding is clearly positive.

And after three decades of activity, with several obstacles overcome, another one emerged: the new coronavirus. We were all taken by surprise by this pandemic outbreak, but we were always focused on minimizing the impact that COVID-19 could have on the entire Eticadata Software ecosystem.
The company claims to have implemented, in a timely manner, a contingency plan that incorporated a series of measures, taking into account issues of social responsibility and the need to guarantee the quality and continuity of the essential services we provide.
With regard to technological infrastructures, adaptation was not difficult, it is guaranteed, since teleworking has been an incorporated resource over the years. What changed was the percentage of employees who stayed exclusively in telework, which went from 5% to 100% of the team. And the result could not have been better since we responded effectively and efficiently to legal and tax changes, providing our more than 50,000 users with versions adapted to this new reality.
Despite a natural and conscious apprehension, the performance achieved over these years leads the future to be viewed with enthusiasm and optimism. The new reality blurs the possibility of seeing much beyond, underlines Jos Gonalves, since we are now facing renewed challenges in a global environment that is increasingly complex, but the CEO has no doubts in saying that Eticadata will be able to respond in time.
We feel that the national economy is beginning to take the first steps towards recovery, but the relaunching of the economy worldwide, this will obviously be done at different speeds
Operating beyond the national market in countries with Angola, Mozambique, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Spain, Guin Bissau, Cape Verde, So Tom and Prince, the impact of COVID-19 is expected to have different shock waves, but Eticadata is already has demonstrated, over these 30 years of existence, its ability to overcome complex challenges and I do not doubt or hesitate to anticipate that we will once again be successful in overcoming the obstacles that come our way, always with a deep sense of responsibility.
