Our smartphones store different information every minute, ranging from website snippets to photos, audio and video we receive through messaging apps. In this article you will find a special selection with the best file managers for Android. I'm sure they will optimize the memory of your phone without wasting a lot of time.
ES File Manager outside of Google Play (Update)
One of the most popular file managers for Android, ES File Manager, has been removed from the Play Store, suspected of being a tool for advertising fraud. If you still have this app installed on your smartphone, we strongly recommend that you delete it immediately, as well as all other ES Global, DU Global and DO Global apps.

X-plore File Manager
The X-plore File Manager balcony grid is a dual screen where you can simply drag and drop content from one screen to another without the need to copy and paste. The interface may not please many, however the amount of tools the app offers is incredible. It's worth checking out this different file manager.

File Manager +
Undoubtedly the file manager that I like the most present in the list. Not for the best, but simply because it is just 4.5 MB and has extra features like a built-in music player. Some features are still missing, such as a cleaner for example, however, a great option, especially if you have an older smartphone.

File Manager by Xiaomi
That Xiaomi loves launching new devices that everyone knows, the amount of smartphones the company has launched this year proves it. What a lot of people don't know is that the Chinese giant also makes some of its apps available for free on Play, and one of them is File Manager by Xiaomi. This great manager is the same that comes factory installed on your smartphones. Lightweight, simple and with a powerful system cleaner, the app is a great choice.

File Manager (Asus)
When it comes to file manager, you can't leave Asus File Manager out of the list. The same manager is present on Zenfone devices and can be downloaded for free to any other smartphone. File Manager has a well-organized interface where you can determine which options and folders will be visible.

Files Go
Google has released on Google Play an app called Files Go, which is a personal and general system file optimizer app. So here we have a manager that takes care of images we download from the internet, music and podcasts that we put on mobile (and microSD too) and also system caches. A great option is simple and easy.

Total Commander
Total Commander is an application that I met a short while ago but was able to surprise me with its simplicity. This is because the app has all the functions that are available to the user in the main interface, eliminating the need to access alternative menus. The navigation is very intuitive. You can change the language, icons, and color of the application through the Total Commander settings.

Solid explorer
Solid Explorer closely resembles Total Commander, which is at the beginning of the list. However, the interface of this application can be superior, since it is totally adapted to Material Design. Right on the main page we find a floating menu, which offers some commands to manage your files and, in the side menu, we have a summary of the available space in the internal and external storage of the device.

File Commander
File Commander is mostly known to users of Xperia smartphones, as this app comes standard on these devices. I like the app for the way it displays all information about device stores – and its libraries – in the main interface.
One of the tools I most enjoy is the ability to administer the phone from the computer through the "PC File Transfer" option, which generates an IP address for the user to access the device files from any web browser.
