End of line: MacBooks Pro (2010) and Xserve (2009) officially obsolete by Apple

Do you know what a classic or obsolete Apple product is? We explain:

  • Classic Products: are those that have not been manufactured for over five years and less than seven. Apple suspends hardware service for classic products (vintage), with some exceptions.
  • Obsolete Products: only those offline for over seven years. Apple completely suspends hardware service for obsolete products without exception.

At the end of 2015 we reported that some products were on this list (Macs, accessories, first generation iPod touch, etc.). Now, three more are part of this group according to reported the MacRumors. Just them: 15-inch MacBook Pro (Mid 2010), 17-inch MacBook Pro (Mid 2010) and Xserve (early 2009).

The three are now classified as classic in the US and Turkey, and obsolete in the rest of the world according to Ma.
