Elgato today announced the launch of EyeTV HD, the newest version of its DVR (digital video recorder). With it connected to a TV or cable / satellite receiver, content can be easily stored and transferred to Macs, iPads and iPhones / iPods touch.
With the new EyeTV app now available on the App Store for $ 5 (~ 900KB), users can even choose to enjoy their content via streaming Wi-Fi / 3G, without the need to transfer them manually and completely to any of the gadgets connected to the Mac.
The device connects to the computer via a USB interface and offers component video and stereo audio inputs, as well as a composite cable for standard definition and S-Video input. The videos are saved on the device in H.264 format, fully compatible with iTunes and Apple gadgets.
EyeTV HD has a suggested retail price of $ 200 in the United States.
