DxOMark elects Huawei P40 Pro as new "king" of photography on smartphones

Huawei's new flagship was announced last week and photography was once again the main highlight, as SAPO TEK reported after following the conference and sharing the first impressions that resulted from an experience of around 24 hours with smartphone.

Now DxOMark comes to "stamp" the seal of quality, after an intensive analysis of the various rear and front cameras of the Huawei P40 Pro, and guarantees that this is the new "king" of photography among smartphones.

Huawei's smartphone got 128 points from the DxOMark marker, surpassing the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G that had secured 123 points, and competitors Oppo Find X2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, both with 124 points. Within the classification Samsung has its Note 10 + with 117 points and the Galaxy S10 5G with 116 points, while Apple is at 106 points with the iPhone XS Max.

DxOMark's analysis of the Huawei P 40 Pro addresses the main camera, integrated into a Leica four-camera system, with a 50 MP Ultra Vision wide angle, RYYB sensor and 1.9f aperture, with OIS stabilizer, being completed with a kinematic lens 40 MP, a 12 MP periscope with 5X optical zoom and a TOF lens.

Among the main advantages that guaranteed a score of 128 points are the extended dynamic field, the detail of the photos in zoom and the fast and reliable ability to autofocus in the various light conditions. The balance between the texture and the noise of the photos was also highlighted, as well as the exposure in the night images.

Less positive were some errors occasionally found in terms of color rendering and white balance, and under exposure to bright light.

The Huawei P40 Pro is already on pre-sale in Portugal and hits stores on April 7, with the Huawei P40. Prices start at 829.90 and the P40 Pro starts at 1049.99 euros for the 256 GB version of storage, and Huawei included two offers in the package, the Frearbuds 3 headsets and the wireless fast charger.

SAPO TEK has already tried the Huawei P40 Pro and you can see the smartphone images here.
