Apparent Corporation recently launched the Doxie, a portable document scanner (it weighs just 310 grams) and very cool on the international market.
Powered by the USB 2.0 port of Macs and PCs, its software makes it possible to scan documents for applications and web apps such as iPhoto, Google Docs, Evernote, Acrobat, Flickr, Tumblr, Picnik, Picasa and Backpack.
The color scan process offers a resolution of up to 600 dots per inch (DPI), with automatic page detection. After scanning, the user can still make basic edits to the image and then export it in PDF, JPEG or PNG without compression.
The Doxie has a suggested retail price of $ 130 and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 or higher.
