Donald Trump Says Apple Won't Receive Tax Exemption for New Mac Pro [atualizado]

A few days ago, we reported that Apple made a formal request to the United States Government for parts and accessories of the new Mac pro from the new import taxes proposed by Donald Trump, 25%.

Well, the answer didn't take long to come from the president's own mouth:

Apple will not receive tariff exemptions, or rebates, for Mac Pro parts that are made in China. Manufacture them in the USA, without tariffs!

Obviously, Apple's effort was simply to secure a higher profit margin in selling the new professional Mac. She didn't mean to cut his price if she got such an exemption, just as she wouldn't raise him with that denial of Trump.

In the US, the new Mac Pro announced at WWDC19 from $ 6,000 just by the tower. When it arrives in Brazil, if customized on the stalk with some Pro Display XDR displays, it could cost more than half a million reais by our estimates.

Undoubtedly, the return of Mac Pro China manufacturing is totally against the recent sea. With all the trade tension between the US and China, I can't imagine that Apple really hoped to get this exemption for the product.

In a quick statement given to reporters this afternoon at the White House, Trump also said he expects Apple to announce in the future the construction of a new factory in Texas (USA).

To be?
