Making an appointment by video call with a health professional was already available to all who live in major cities in the country through the Doctorino website. Now, as Portugal advances in the process of deflation, the startup has decided to provide the possibility of making appointments to the home in Lisbon through the platform, reinforcing security measures to avoid the risk of contagion with COVID-19.
Doctorino's new option covers specialties such as Nephrology, General Clinic, Physiotherapy, Gastroenterology, Psychology and Osteopathy. The process of making an appointment with the home is similar to what already existed for teleconsultations and patients only need to choose the specialty, the health professional, as well as the necessary information, such as the date and time, so that he can move his House.
To help find the doctor who best suits the needs of a patient, the website provides information about each health professional, including the specialties he practices and the values ββof the consultations.
In a statement, Nuno Gonalves, one of the founders of the startup, explains that the goal is to ensure that patients have all the options of consultation formats on their side so that they can choose the one that brings them the most confidence and security.
The official also details that home consultations are a more viable option for those who have, for example. a lower level of mobility or some resistance to travel to hospitals due to the context of the pandemic. After Lisbon, Doctorino wants to expand its operations to the whole country by the end of the year and Nuno Gonalves says that the company is combining efforts so that all patients have access to home consultations.
