Do you know those colorful Facebook messages? Now you can also use them on WhatsApp

The most popular messenger in Brazil gained some news this week. Without delay, let's go to them!

New status option

We commented for some time that the WhatsApp Messenger implemented that feature that absolutely any and all social networking application and / or messenger has been copying from Snapchat: status with stories in photos / videos that disappear after 24 hours. This week, they added yet another way for you to express yourself: colorful messages like those available on Facebook.

WhatsApp Status

You can write whatever you want there. Just enter the "Status" tab, touch the pencil icon and start playing (writing, changing the font, color, adding emojis, links, etc.). After that, you can leave the message l, so that all your contacts can see it (if they enter the “Status” tab, of course) or forward directly to the people / groups you want.

It’s worth noting that, if you want, you can control who can view your status updates in WhatsApp’s privacy settings by going to Account Settings Privacy Status. There are three options:

  1. "My contacts"
  2. “My Contacts except”
  3. “Share only with”

You can also find out who viewed your status updates by tapping the eye icon at the bottom of any update. Furthermore, when you view someone's status update, there is a reply button for you to comment on any photo, video or GIF; by tapping on it, your message will be sent in a WhatsApp chat with a thumbnail of the status update.

Status on the web or desktop apps

In addition to the news above, WhatsApp Web (accessible via the web.whatsapp URL) and WhatsApp Desktop have also been updated accordingly.

WhatsApp Status

The novelty that, now, they show the stories of your contacts shared in Status before, you could only view them through the mobile app.

WhatsApp numbers

Perhaps neither you nor your contacts use the WhatsApp Status feature, but believe it or not: according to Mark Zuckerberg, 1 billion people are using the messenger and, of these, more than 250 million share their stories through WhatsApp Status, as informed the Reuters. 😱
