Facebook is one of the most used applications on the iPhone, and a few months ago they introduced the automatic video playback feature, both on the web and on mobile phones and tablets.
Despite having people who find this useful, most did not like the «newness», and yet, it impairs the performance of your iPhone.
This is because, if the people you follow post many videos, as the timeline rolls, these videos will be loaded, consuming data franchise (if enabled), and, especially, the sacred battery.
The feature was pushed by force, but the solution is extremely simple.
Thinking about it, we created this tip for you to get rid of the problem once and for all.
First, open the app and tap the last icon on the right in the toolbar, where it says “More”- there you access all the resources of the application, and it is even worth exploring.
Now, scroll to the bottom of the list, in the Settings section, and go to the option settings itself, and then Videos and photos> Auto play.
Note that there are some playback options.
Explaining one by one:
- Use cell data plan and Wi-Fi network: with that the videos will be played regardless of whether you are connected to a wi-fi network, which will consume your data franchise, in addition to affecting battery life.
- Use Wi-Fi network only: that is, when you are connected to a wi-fi network it will automatically play the videos.
The disadvantage is that the battery will still be consumed more quickly.
- Never play videos automatically: wiser option, disable the feature and save you a headache.
There is also the option «Intelligent autoplay», which takes into account several factors such as location, battery level, etc., but which will still consume the precious energy source of the iPhone, so our recommendation is to leave the feature disabled.
Bonus: if you like to watch videos in HD (it’s always good), just go to the previous menu and check the option “Upload HD”.
Now you know how to disable one of the most annoying features of Facebook, which in addition to annoying still consumes a lot of battery.
