Apple has long been campaigning to convince us that the iPad is the new computer and that it fully replaces table equipment. With that, a lot of people are really doing everything for the iPhone and iPad and using less and less the classic computer.
Until a situation arises that you are in doubt: how to change the name of a file on iOS?
In this article, we will show you a very simple way to do this.
In its contest of photos taken with the iPhone, Apple allows you to send the image directly by email, without having to publish on social networks. However, it makes a requirement: the file name must follow the format: “phone_name_modelname.extension“.
Then you took that beautiful photo, which will leave the jury jaw-dropping. It will send from the iPhone itself, but realizes that it does not know how to change the file name. What to do? Looking for a nearby computer to do this?
No! You can easily rename files on iOS before sending them to someone. And the native application that does this is called FILES. ?
The trick is to save the photo to the Archives and rename it. See the step by step:
Step 1: Open the Photos app and select the image you want to rename.
Step 2: Touch the “Save to Files“In the bottom menu. Choose a folder to save the image there.
Step 3: Open the FILES application and search for the image you just saved.
Step 4: Touch the image. A contextual menu will appear, with the option “Rename“. Touch this option.
Step 5: At this point, you can rename the image to whatever you want. Do not put the extension, which will remain the same as the original file.
Step 6: Okay, now just send it by email, by message or save it back in the Photo Album, which when it is attached to any message will keep the new name.
The tip also works if you, instead of using the Files app, use any cloud service, such as Dropbox or Google Drive: just upload the photo there and rename the file. But it is not necessary, you can do all this on iOS, without having to send the file to third-party servers.
