The App Store has created many beautiful stories and opened up possibilities for many independent developers and companies to support themselves with apps, but not always the right thing.
Vemedio was not unknown and had a highly praised app, the Instacast. But the thing was unsustainable and founder Martin Hering has just announced that he is giving up on the business.
The Mac version of Instacast has already been removed from the App Store. The iOS app is still available, but probably not for long.
Sorry, app not found.
Until August 2014, Instacast was a paid app. Then he became freemium, trying to support themselves through semiannual (US $ 10) or annual (US $ 15) subscriptions. Evidently, the thing didn't work.
A feather.
Id choose Pocket Casts over Overcast as an Instacast alternative. Looks better and has chapters.
