Last week Huawei introduced the P40 smartphone series with some new features, also without Google Mobile Services. However, it seems that the Pro version has parts from three American companies: Qualcomm, Skyworks and Qorvo. At a time when the North American blockade of Chinese manufacturers lasted until May 15, licenses are needed to make negotiations possible and confirmed are only Qualcomm's authorization. As for the other two remaining companies, the question is still unclear.
The news advanced by the Financial Times, which guarantees to have ordered a disassembly of the P40 Pro. The detailed conclusion is the existence of RF front-end modules, that is, the circuit from the antenna receivers and the smartphone audio mixer, and American antennas on the latest high-end mobile phone from Huawei that SAPO TEK has already tested.
Android Central contacted the Chinese manufacturer to clarify this situation and, so far, has received no response from the company.
Q40: what is Huawei's bet?
Chosen as the new "king" of smartphone photography, the P40 Pro is part of the P40 series, which includes three models, all prepared for the 5G. However, only the P40 and P40 Pro arrive in stores in April, with the most trim version expected in June.
The Huawei P40 has a price of 829.90 and the P40 Pro starts at 1049.99 euros for the 256 GB version of storage. The prices are in line, and even above, those that Huawei defined for the P30, which cost 799 euros in the "normal" version and 1,099 euros in the Pro version with 256 GB. Remember that when the P20 was launched, it cost 699 euros in the normal version and 899 euros in the Pro version.
