Dell may be developing a new ultralight notebook model to compete with Apple's MacBook Air. Called "Adamo", the supposed laptop already has a domain on the web, which for now only has a message "Coming Soon" ("Coming Soon"):
Rumors suggest that it will be a line with several different models to compete with the Air, but none with a miniaturized screen and keyboard, only focused on reducing its weight and thickness.
Dell's vice president of marketing, Michael Tatelman, was asked about the matter, but declined to mention details about the new line, merely saying that Dell needs to launch new computer models that will increase its reputation in the market. Apparently, the Adamo line should be presented shortly before the opening of CES 2009, in early January.
