Deadlines for shipping the new iPhone SE jump to May a few hours after pre-sale starts

As announced the day before yesterday, Apple started this morning to pre-order the new iPhone SE in the first countries to receive the new model – Brazil, as expected, is out of this initial wave, although we already know the national prices of the latest Apple smartphone.

Because in the United States, it seems that those first hours of pre-sale attracted many interested consumers: at the time of writing this article, all models of the new iPhone SE have already had their delivery period extended to the early may – or even beyond that, for some of them.

Officially, the launch date of the new Apple device in the initial countries is next Friday (24/4), but when trying to purchase one of the new iPhones SE in the American Apple Online Store, you will be faced with two delivery options: or between May 1st and 5th (for fast shipping) or between May 4th and 6th (for free shipping).

Three smartphone configurations have even longer deadlines, with delivery expected between the 4th and the 11th of May: the 256GB iPhone SE (PRODUCT) RED SIM-Free (that is, not associated with any operator), the (PRODUCT) 128GB RED from Verizon and the white 256GB, also from Verizon. The tendency is that, over time, other configurations will also have an extended delivery period.

This is particularly important in this launch because, unlike others, there will be no face-to-face sales of the new iPhone at first – the Apple stores and basically all of its resellers, after all, are closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19 ). That is, for now, the only way for consumers to get their hands on the new iPhone SE will be precisely over the internet.

In other Apple Online Stores around the world, such as the British, Australian and Canadian, it is still possible to make the advance purchase of the new device with a shipping deadline for the next 24th. In the Portuguese store, only the versions (PRODUCT ) 64GB and 128GB RED have already had their terms increased to 27 / 4-5 / 5; all others are scheduled to be delivered next Friday.

It is worth noting that none of this is necessarily a sign that consumers are drooling the new iPhone SE or that the device is already a absolute success even before launch – it all depends, of course, on the number of units of the device that Apple has pre-ordered. We will have a clearer idea of the public reception regarding the smartphone in the coming weeks.

And you can expect, very soon, a video of unboxing + hands-on of him going out on our YouTube channel. ?
