A set of improvements is presented tomorrow to the Credit Responsibility Center, a database, managed by Banco de Portugal, which allows to know the status of the loans of each Portuguese.
The system, which has been improved with the support of Novabase, will also allow access to tax information for each consumer, information from other European central banks or from the court secretariats with data on certificates and insolvency sentences.
The changes facilitate the assessment of the risk associated with each credit, since they introduce more information about each consumer, but also extend the possibilities of access to the database over time, allowing those who sell to know the customer’s history and whether or not they have previous situations. default at any time.
According to the Diário de Notícias, which advances the information, some of the improvements developed by the national technology are already in operation, such as the possibility of consulting the registered information online, 16 hours a day, every day of the week.
The Credit Responsibility Center includes information on all types of credit, bills, bank account overdrafts, use of credit cards and leasing operations.
